JOB SUMMARY:
Information Systems Project Manager PROJECT SUMMARY: In this role, you will be leading project planning and execution for new clinical applications used in the treatment of patients. These projects center around the development, configuration, and implementation of new software applications, but often include the need for organizational change management planning and execution. The heavy project volume we are currently experience are a result of our ongoing efforts related to the remediation of all systems and processes that will be interfacing with a new ERP tool we are bringing online. This is an enterprise-wide initiative that involves hundreds of systems and applications. PROJECT PURPOSE amp; GOALS: The ultimate goal of this project is to reduce healthcare costs. This will be accomplished by improving efficiency across the organization, lowering administrative costs, improving accuracy, and improving the experience our clients and patients have. We are working with very aggressive timelines and expect to complete the transition to our new ERP system by the end of 2013. IN DEMAND TECHNOLOGIES YOU WILL GAIN ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE WITH: In this role, you will gain a strong understanding of PeopleSoft, especially from the implementation side of things. In addition, you will be working on projects developed with cutting edge software products in Java, .Net, etc. IN DEMAND INDUSTRY TOOLS AND EXPOSURE YOU WILL GAIN EXPERIENCE WITH: This project is extremely visible throughout the organization and wide reaching across the enterprise. You will gain an extremely detailed understanding of medical applications, systems, and in depth knowledge of exactly how large medical organizations work. PROJECT DURATION amp; LONG TERM OUTLOOK: The project duration is initially expected to last at least through the end of 2013. As a member of this project team, you will become an integral team member of our Project Management Office. The knowledge and experience you will gain, in addition to the networking and exposure that you will receive will put you in a position that will most likely result in a full-time offer being extended with Intermountain Healthcare. YOUR SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES ON THIS PROJECT: Leads the project team to meet the milestone-based requirements of our clients Project Life Cycle Leads the development and execution of the overall project plan with special emphasis on the management of risks and issues, dependencies and resources Leads the project team to meet project objectives within scope, schedule, resource, quality, risk, and customer satisfaction constraints. Works with functional managers in I.S. to secure project staffing and coordinates their work on the project. Works closely with the clinical quality assurance team to ensure that the project is well documented and meets all quality assurance requirements. Ensures timely and effective communication to all project stakeholders including project sponsors, project team members and I.S. executive management. Facilitates the effective implementation of the new application in the work environment by close coordination with clinical operations leaders.
