JOB SUMMARY:
Description Teaches swim lessons. Provides a safe and clean environment for all guests in the pool area. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION Must be at least 16 years of age or older at the time of hire. Possession of current American Red Cross (ARC) Lifeguarding, CPR/AED for Lifeguards, and Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certifications at the time of hire. Successful completion of a criminal background check. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Teach Swimming Lessons to program participants. Performs lifeguard duties (if lifeguard certified). Prepares and completes records and reports. Fills out appropriate accident/incident reports. Responds quickly and efficiently to emergency situations. Attends regularly scheduled in-service trainings. Cleans pool, pool deck, dressing rooms, and other assigned areas. Informs student/parent of progress. TEMPORARY EMPLOYEES May work up to 1,560 hours per calendar year. Are not eligible for County benefits except as otherwise provided for by policy. Are not considered merit employees; they are "at will" employees who may be terminated for any reason, without notice, and without a pre-termination hearing.
