JOB SUMMARY:
Logistics Specialist - -Controls the efficient flow of goods, services, and information between point of origin through customer placement in order to meet customer requirements. Ensures that customer service and time objectives are achieved within existing financial constraints in order to meet financial objectives. Ensures the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistics processes, such as the replenishment system, data interchange systems, demand management, electronic data systems administration and related functions. Builds relationships with strategic customers through logistics initiatives. Integrates learning from customers, competitors, operating entities, distribution, transportation, customer service, other industries, industry groups, and professional training to continuously improve competitive position. - -The Logistics Specialist assists the Logistics Manager in providing Depot and Intermediate level Logistics Support for the Senior Scout program. Responsibilities include; monitoring equipment/parts loans for internal and external customers, maintenance of inventory records along with spares and repair information in the Big Safari Inventory (BSI) system and spares and repairs databases, oversight and management of all warehouse functions, management and maintenance of indicative data in the BSI system, conducts physical inventories. Manages the Due-In-From-Maintenance (DIFM) program, the Document Control program, the Mission Support Kits (MSK) program, the shelf life program, depot repair actions on unserviceable assets, the excess program, and arranges transportation/distribution actions. - -Requirements -Inventory Records/ Documentation -Maintains documentation required for the management of government assets -Enters data and utilizes the BSI system to track and maintain accurate inventories -Provides assistance in the management of unit loaned equipment/parts -Manages mission support kits in-garrison, and processes requests for mission support assets and monitors assets during deployments -Manages the MSKs to ensure they are maintained at a 100% fill-rate -Management of loan accounts with vendors -Coordinates repair/purchases of depot-supported assets -Determines parts requirements and develops provisioning documentation -Determines support equipment requirements: Assists in and/or determination for spares provisioning, support equipment requirements and reliability and maintainability analyses -Manages the DIFM program to ensure assets are returned and processed in accordance with directives -Manages the Document Control program -Provides support to maintenance activities. Coordinates with maintenance activities on repairable component actions -Obtains material required for equipment modification and periodic component exchange -Inspects and identifies property -Inspects conditions of property received -Compares property with procurement specifications -Manages functional check/calibration inspections of stocks as applicable -Issues and transfers property -Issues, ships, or transfers property from issue, shipping, or transfer to destination points through coordination with customers -Controls issue of classified sensitive and controlled items, obtaining custody or document receipts -Compiles data for storage and occupancy planning reports. Pulls, issues, and bins property/parts -Support and Test equipment -Warehouses, inventories, provides disposition to Operations Manager, customer and vendors; updates Operations Manager and customer on test equipment calibration schedule -Packaging, Handling, Storage and Transportation (PHSamp;amp;T) -Ensures assets are protected, packaged correctly, stored, and inventoried in accordance with proper procedures when maintaining government furnished equipment -Plans and procures the fastest most economical means of transportation to support customer requirements -Conduct warehouse validations; ensure each assigned location is valid, contains the cor
