Requires a high degree of organizational skills, negotiating skills and professional ethics in dealing with vendors and customers. Key Tasks: a Support engineering, operations and maintenance departments by supplying tools, parts, services and equipment a Implementation of contracting strategies with vendors; prepare, request and evaluate bids and proposals a Write parts / bid specifications a Expediting items when needed a Manage storeroom inventory including issuing of parts a Place purchase orders a Determine and evaluate alternate part sources a Assist Maintenance in determining parts needs a Obtain best combination of price, quality and service for replacement parts and repairs a Negotiate national contracts a This is a hand-on position that will require working closely with maintenance including taking parts and equipment part Skills and Requirements: a Minimum 2-5 yrs experience in inventory management, technical services and/or the purchase of spare parts and equipment a Prefer someone with a plant maintenance or technical mechanical background a Well organized and attention to details is important a Knowledge of inventory management and control systems a Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) a Able to communicate and negotiate with vendors, technical resources a Knowledge to develop and insure contract administration practices are followed and executed in a professional and ethical manner, in compliance with purchasing laws and practices a Establish centralized buying, including issuing purchase orders, contracts and change orders, cost control, change control, inventory control and scheduling. a Business intelligence, excellent computer skills, experience supplying multiple projects Work Environment: a Job will be performed in a food manufacturing environment. Must be able to support a schedule-driven 12 hr. rotating shift environment. Overtime may be necessary as workloads dictate. a Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices, including wearing hair nets, uniforms and appropriate safety equipment apply. a While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit for prolonged periods of time, climb stairs, climb ladders and walk plant floors that could exceed one mile of travel per day.
