JOB SUMMARY:
Maintenance Technician serves as an integral part of the maintenance team providing a Can Do attitude and providing a quality service to customers while ensuring department goals are met. The Maintenance Technician will have responsibilities for preventative and corrective maintenance activities along with tactical and strategic continuous improvement projects as assigned to ensure team success. Takes daily direction from the Maintenance Lead and is a Team Player within the group that clearly and professionally communicates verbally and in writing to ensure customer needs and expectations are understood, prioritized, clearly communicated and actively worked on in a safe manor. Position Responsibilities * With direction from the Maintenance Manager and Lead, executes towards department vision and mission to assure continuous improvement and work alignment to Safety, Quality, Cost and Productivity Goals * Leads by example and Influences team members on cGMP and SQF adherence * Works with equipment vendors to obtain part and equipment quotes, specs and price negotiations * High level of work ethic in troubleshooting to root cause and follow through implementation of fixes * Develops, modifies and uses Preventative Maintenance Checklists and Procedures to ensure MTBF goals are met * Provide technical support for efficient troubleshooting and problem solving activities to maximize efficiencies and limit downtime * Takes on the responsibility to perform analysis and/or identify opportunity for improvement (Safety, Quality, Cost, and Productivity) inside and outside of their department and works with the Department Manager to led project implementation to resolve opportunity?s * Maintains a very high level of Business and Personal Ethics and Professionalism * Ensure all quality and regulatory standards, specifications and policies are met or exceeded * Performs other duties as assigned. Background * High School Diploma or GED required. Associates Degree or Local Trade Certification preferred. * Food Industry knowledge preferred with Powder Manufacturing a plus * 3+ years? experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent training / experience * Working knowledge and component level troubleshooting ability in the following systems is preferred: PLCs and programming Pneumatics Hydraulics Mechanical Electrical Electronics Proficient in Stick, TIG, MIG, and Acetylene welding of both stainless and steel Working knowledge with the use of Drill Press, Hydraulic Press, Power Saws and various Hand Tools Strong Windows computer and MS Office skills Basic mathematical and financial skills and understanding Ability to use the above mentioned background requirements to fabricate improvement projects Qualities Ability to multi-task and prioritize different situations and customers at one time Ability to be accountable for actions and have excellent follow though Be self motivated and able to manage their time well Demonstrate good communication skills, both verbal and written Willing to adapt to and implement change Able to maintain a positive, professional attitude under difficult and stressful circumstances Able to frequency lift heavy objects and weighs occasionally in excess of 100lbs and be able to stand, walk, climb, crouch, kneel, reach, grasp, balance, stoop, push, walk and perform repetitive motions continually Able to work various hours/shifts as required
