JOB SUMMARY:

Mechanical Systems Engineer 3 needed for a Salt Lake City employer. Must have a minimum of 5+ years of mechanical design experience. Experience with material handling equipment is a plus. Candidate must have knowledge of AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor. Travel is required at approximately 15-30%. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs advanced areas of work for the professional field. Applies advanced skills to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices independently. Displays a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-functional problems. - Develop new concepts, create layouts, and detail designs. - Perform in-depth engineering analysis and calculations. - Coordinate with engineers of other disciplines to ensure a functional design. - Supervise designers and drafters in preparation of production drawings. - Estimate cost and design requirements for external customers. - Support manufacturing and field installation of equipment. KNOWLEDGE: Demonstrates extensive knowledge in field of specialization to the successful completion of complex assignments. Demonstrates significant knowledge of organization's business practices and issues faced and contributes to problem resolution of those issues. - Strength of Materials Fatigue Design - Finite Element Analysis - Machine and Mechanism Design - Dynamic Analysis - Hydraulic Pneumatic Design - Autodesk Inventor - AutoCAD EDUCATION: Typically BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. Certification may be required in some areas. Employer will arrange work schedule. Salary is negotiable depending on qualifications.
