JOB SUMMARY:
DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Plant Accountant I Salt Lake City, UT Position Summary This individual will be responsible for the following: ensuring that proper accounting methods and procedures are utilized on a daily basis at the production facility; analyzing monthly results comparing actuals to budgeted and forecasted amounts; utilizing the SAP system to perform a range of plant financial functions such as procurement, inventory management, financial analysis, and financial accounting; and managing the plant office/operations employees to include, but not limited to, warehouse employees, inventory coordinators, and other office personnel. Key Duties / Responsibilities -Ensure proper accounting methods and procedures are utilized and adhered to on a daily basis. Utilize reports from the SAP system to oversee the monthly closing process and ensure that all journal entries are complete and posted in the SAP system. ( 20%) -Analyze monthly results using the SAP system comparing actual costs to budget and make recommendations to management regarding actions necessary to meet financial goals. ( 20%) -Ensure proper inventory and warehouse management by managing the material requirements / purchasing activities in the SAP system to achieve stock turn and freight performance goals. Maintain and perform all inventory functions within the SAP system including material master data, cycle counting, material planning, ordering, and movement. ( 20%) -Maintain and perform all procurement procedures within the SAP system including vendor master data, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and receiving. ( 15%) -Plan and direct the plant manager through the process of the development and analysis of the manufacturing facility's annual operating plan and quarterly forecasts. ( 10%) -Coordinate a semi-annual internal control process to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the financial data and processes to include fixed assets, payroll, inventory, billing, external vendor invoices, and all daily SAP transactions. ( 5%) -Assist the Human Resources representative in all HR functions. In the absence of a HR representative, perform all HR functions. ( 5%) -Assist in the computation and reporting of payroll. Experience / Skills / Abilities Required Experience: Three plus years of experience in Finance or Accounting.
