University of Utah Health Care seeks staff that are committed to the values of compassion, collaboration, innovation, responsibility, diversity, integrity, quality and trust that are integral to our mission.    This position is responsible to assist with the set up and preparation for the meal service and prepares food items for patients, cafeteria, deliapos;s, catering and Starbucks.    Responsibilities:    - Sets up service area for meal service according to the menu for the day.  - Ensures that meal service, order and delivery needs are met.  - Ensures that menu items are followed as per recipe.  - Prepares sandwiches, salads, garnishes, fruit and vegetables for all NCS areas.  - Cleans work area.  - May be assigned to back up other production staff with other cooking responsibilities.  - Slices meats, cheeses, prepares fresh vegetables and fruits and condiments as assigned.    Knowledge / Skills / Abilities    - Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above.  - Demonstrated human relations, computer literacy and effective communication skills.  - Ability to organize and facilitate functions with minimal notice.  - Ability to safely work with potentially dangerous cleaning chemicals utilized in sanitation procedures, as well as equipment and supply hazards such as wet or hot work surfaces and sharp edges on food containers, meat slicers, and food processors.  - Ability to lift and push heavy supply containers, equipment and food carts.  - Knowledge of operating heavy mechanized equipment including slicers, mixers, blenders, steam kettles, fryers, and choppers.  - Ability to comply with departmental policies regarding attendance and evaluations.    Qualifications:    Required    - Six months of food service, customer service experience or equivalency.  - Current food service workerapos;s permit.
