Requisition Number 12-0190 Post Date 3/30/2012 Title Project Specialist III Work Hours 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Work Schedule Monday - Friday (40 hrs./week) Department Informatics Development City Salt Lake City State UT Description General Function a The Project Specialist III is responsible to provide specialized and/or technical support to managers and members on special projects from the standpoint of training, support, methodology, and documentation. Develop schedules for both proposal inclusion and ongoing project/program development. May facilitate the development of departmental, divisional, and enterprise-wide projects, including project definition and scope, creating deliverables, risk assessment, project tracking, and status reporting. a In relation to the responsibilities of a Project Specialist III, a project is defined as a one-time endeavor with an established end date, and where the Project Specialist III serves as a resource assigned to support the project, to meet the project requirements and to achieve the project deliverables. a Position may specialize in functional areas, such as Information Technology or Medical Technology, which may require additional specific skill and experience. aReporting Function a This position works under the direction of the Division Manager, a Project Manager, orthe Project Management Office. aEssential Functions a 1.aaaaaProvides technical direction by staying abreast of technical innovations and evaluating the long-term success of new technologies. Quickly gains knowledge of new technologies to ensure successful implementation and to provide technical education to the team members. 2.aaaaaSupports staff and managers in project management activities. 3.aaaaaAssists in the planning and implementation of small to large projects with oversight. 4.aaaaaSupports aspects of complex projects as requested. 5.aaaaaCoordinates and collaborates with subject matter experts to conduct data analysis and risk assessments in relation to compliance with established procedures. 6.aaaaaPresents analysis results to managers, the Project Management Office, or senior management. 7.aaaaaCoordinates communications as warranted by project scope. 8.aaaaaTracks proposed projects and track and resolve issues related to the proposed projects. 9.aaaaaFunctions as liaison with internal customers on proposed projects. 10.aEnsures that proper processes are being followed and assist in establishing new processes as required. 11.aIT Specialists may also require aA
