JOB SUMMARY:
The Sales Assistant performs a variety of clerical, administrative and sales related activities to support the sales staff. The ideal candidate will display a strong work ethic, work well in a fast paced environment taking direction from others, possess a high level of energy, have a desire to take on responsibilities, work well independently and with a team, and be able to work under deadlines and time constraints. Multi-tasking skills and the ability to prioritize are a must. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Work closely with sales representatives to extend high-quality, timely service to current and prospective customers. Assist sales representatives in preparation for client meetings/presentations. Help prepare literature and bid documents aimed at securing new accounts. Answer customer inquiries regarding products and services. Maintain up to date information on customers and activity in company CRM program. -Deliver samples, brochures, literature, drawings, etc. to local customers as requested. Provide coverage during sales representative's absence for back-up and follow-through with customers. Greet and assist showroom visitors, show products, answer questions, follow through on the sale of product as needed. Work directly with customers on smaller/simple requests, prepare quotes, process orders as directed by the sales representative. Use internal systems to research information as needed and assist in double check of product specifications and orders. Maintain electronic and hard copy filing for customer activity including finish and standards for projects and all documents related to specific purchase orders/projects. Skill set to include: Communicate effectively and maintain positive relationships with co-workers and customers. Cooperate successfully as a member of a team, taking direction from assigned sales representatives. Exceptional organizational and time management skills with outstanding follow through. Ability to multi-task in a highly demanding, stressful environment. Detail oriented, resourceful, highly dependable. Demonstrated proficiency composing written communications. Excellent telephone skills and computer knowledge with proficiency in database management and word processing. Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Bachelors degree preferred with 3+ years of experience in customer service or sales support. Experience in healthcare related field a plus. Position provides opportunity to move into a full-time sales representative position after proven performance.
