JOB SUMMARY:
Work in a global team responsible for supporting, maintaining and enhancing Equities trade processing and derivatives position-keeping systems to support the firm's Equities trading businesses. Work in a high-impact, client-facing environment, with time-sensitive deliverables across multiple global businesses and regions for operations, controllers and technology clients. Interact daily with other technologists and operations personnel to ensure correct execution of Equities trade processing batch and reporting. Enhance and support trade booking and position-keeping in the firm's proprietary risk management system. Utilize knowledge of SQL and stored procedures to quickly analyze, process trade data and investigate any downstream trade flow issues. Draw on knowledge of financial industry to investigate any booking, valuations and reporting issues for Operations and Controllers. Improve data availability to downstream systems, such as Margin, Settlements, and Controllers systems. Position Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field. Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a software development role. Must have five years of: experience working in object-oriented design and development in all phases of the software development life cycle; and programming experience in C++, Java, or another object-oriented programming language. Must have four years of: experience with RDBMS like Oracle, Sybase, or similar, with coding, debugging, and performance tuning of stored procedures in PL/SQL. Must have three years of: scripting experience in Perl, Python, shell scripts, or other scripting languages; and experience with UNIX/Linux. Must have one year of: experience working with a job scheduler such as autosys, cron, or similar; experience at a financial services company working on trading or trade-processing systems; experience with high-availability production systems; and experience interacting with global business users and converting requirements into technical solutions.
