Job Description The Senior Outcomes Analyst provides expert analytical services in support of health care process improvement and hospital administration. As a member of the Department of System Improvement, this position provides consultation and support in the development, analysis, interpretation, and management of a variety of complex data sources amp;ndash; clinical and financial. Internal customers include physicians and other clinicians, hospital managers, and researchers. Drawing on expertise in statistics, health care processes, and data analysis, the Senior Outcomes Analyst helps internal customers to develop data-collection and analysis plans. The incumbent queries the Intermountain electronic data warehouse (EDW), prepares appropriate charts and graphs, applies appropriate statistical tests, and provides analytical commentary. The Senior Outcomes Analyst assists teams of clinicians in development of scorecards and dashboards. Within the department, the Senior Outcomes Analyst serves as an internal resource and mentor to improvement advisors and staff-level outcomes analysts. Minimum Requirements * Masterapos;apos;s Degree obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified. * Five years of experience using statistical software systems, performing statistical analysis, technical writing and working with outcome oriented data. * Five year of experience using statistical research methods in quantitative and qualitative analysis and their use in outcomes reporting. * Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail applications. * Experience performing highly-complex database queries using SQL. * Experience working with, or awareness of, national issues in the healthcare industry. * Ability to travel to various locations. Preferred Qualifications * Bachelors Degree in math, statistics, or computer science obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified. * Experience using statistical software systems such as SAS, SPSS, Statit, etc. * Experience in ambulatory or hospital setting.
