Employment Type: Full Time Employer: University of Utah Description: This position will assist the Lead SharePoint Developer in customizing user and contributor interfaces for the health sciences intranet. This position will also assess the needs of various business lines and develop custom forms, workflows and applications to help them optimize their efficiency. This position reports to the Associate Director for Strategic and Internal Communications and works within a multi-disciplinary intranet team. Responsible for performing professional Programmer/Analyst assignments, including conducting analysis, maintenance, design conversion and implementation of computer based information systems to meet specified design requirements and specifications. 2. Investigates standard system applications, prepares analysis of system specifications and program coding. 3. Translates detailed design specifications into computer program instructions, debugs routine programs, conducts systems test data, prepares diagrams and over-all flow charts, prepares statements of programs objectives and associated documentation. 4. Conducts programming tasks including data manipulation, input and output routines reflecting a variety of equipment configurations. 5. Coordinates the interfaces between major systems and programs. Responsible for Web design, maintenance and updates. 6. Conducts studies of potential applications and prepares proposals to reflect costs, time and alternative actions to satisfy existing and future needs. 7. Develops operator and control instructions; maintains and updates existing programs of a non-routine nature. 8. Conducts systems programming and support activities such as new or revised segments of language codes or processing. 9. Work frequently includes program maintenance and error detection of existing codes/languages and revisions to systems documentation. Intermediate level. Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience. 2-5 years of experience. Desired Experience: 1. Extensive SharePoint Designer development experience, including proficiency with XSLT and JQuery. 2. Extensive SharePoint list, library, and site creation and management experience, including custom web part creation. 3. Experience with Microsoft SharePoint Security Model, Events, and Workflows. 4. Experience integrating SharePoint with external data sources. 5. Knowledge of operational efficiency tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, etc. 5. Ability to understand and assess the intricacies of various business lines (e.g., finance, HR, billing, clinical areas, etc.). 6. Ability to use create technological solutions in SharePoint that will increase the operational efficiency of business lines. 7. Experience working with Agile Methodologies for Project Management.
