Specialty Class Instructor (Tumbling, Strings, Drama) - Temporary. Job summary: Instructs children and/or adults in a variety of specialty courses, such as sports, skating, fitness, and art. Prepares and provides lessons with proper principles and techniques and demonstrates skills accordingly. Minimum qualifications: Must be at least 16 years of age at the time of hire. Successful completion of a criminal background check. Other minimum qualifications may be required depending on the specific course of instruction. Functions: Instructs and monitors participants in a fun, friendly, personable, and motivating environment. Supervises the conduct of participants to prevent unsafe conditions and behavior. Responds to and reports accidents/incidents. Monitors area for cleanliness and cleans up as necessary. Ensures that all participants are registered. Assists with participant recruitment and program advertising. Informs management of facility and equipment needs and/or problems. Temporary employees may work up to 1,560 hours per calendar year; Are not eligible for County benefits except as otherwise provided for by policy; Are not considered merit employees; they are "at will" employees who may be terminated for any reason, without notice, and without a pre-termination hearing.
