JOB SUMMARY:
Vice President of Finance Duties: Effectively budget, forecast and report on the finances of the College. Provide financial analysis and reporting of College operations and partner with COO to drive plans and changes that will strengthen the finances of the organization. Provide leadership, coordination, and oversight to the Business Office departments. Manage the general operations of the (IT) and Purchasing Departments, and implement policies and procedures as applicable. Supervise/delegate Business Office, IT and Purchasing duties prior to established deadlines, and ensure effective and timely compliance with these deadlines. Responsible for tracking and monitoring all expenditures against operating plans. Perform routine internal audits of all financial records to ensure compliance with GAAP. Assist in the coordination of the Group's response to any internal/external audit related to Business Office, IT and/or Purchasing. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff. Prepare for and supervise annual independent audits of financial statements and financial aid compliance. Qualifications: Experience Minimum of 10 years' experience in finance role with audit, accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis experience. Prefer leadership experience in a college setting. Education Bachelor's degree with a major in Accounting or a related field; Master's degree in Accounting/Business preferred. Licenses, Certificates, Registrations Certified Public Accountant Computer/Office Equipment Skills Advanced spreadsheet software capabilities to perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis quickly and accurately. SAP, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience in the utilization of accounting, IT, phone and purchasing software and related applications. Experience with CampusVue and CampusVantage a plus. Leadership Responsibility As the leader of our Controller, Director of IT and Purchasing Manager, the VP of Finance should have attention to detail and a full understanding of his team's responsibilities. Interpersonal Skills Strong oral and written communication skills to clearly present findings and next steps required. The VP is responsible for keeping the management team apprised of all significant financial developments. To support this, the candidate should have a high confidence level in their presentation ability. The VP must also be able to deliver excellent customer service and and provide a high level of execution. Language Skills Must have the ability to read, understand, deliver, and carry out instructions in English in written and oral form. Other Skills ? Experience developing and maintaining financial statements and operating plans for multiple sites, and rolling them up to the Group level. ? Track record of increased responsibility over time. ? Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task. ? Ability to work well with all levels of management. ? Advanced knowledge of financial and accounting concepts and theory, including related formal education degree, to provide insightful and meaningful analysis leading to appropriate action steps. ? Knowledge of the Education Industry would be a plus; experience to provide all-around skills needed to perform tasks. ? Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
