JOB SUMMARY:

Maintain interior plants (houseplants) in existing account locations in and around the Salt Lake area. Technicians have a consistant schedule and visit accounts once a week during business hours. The job requires some heavy lifting up to 50 lbs and consistent lifting of 10-15 lbs. Technicians are on their feet and walking all day from plant to plant with repetative motion of hands and arms. Technicians provide their own vehicles and are reimbursed monthly for mileage. Must be comfortable driving and parkng in all weather conditions. Techs will be watering, pruning and cleaning plants to keep them looking healthy and beautiful. Insect control is done using non hazardous methods. Customer service is essential to this job position and employees must be friendly, helpful and accommodating. Technicians will work independently and must have a high degree of personal responsibility and excellent decision making and problem solving skills. Training is provided. There is a mandatory training meeting the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 8 a.m. and ahderence to the Cactus Tropicals dress code is required. Commissions available. Previous horticultural experience is preferred but not required. Floral experience is a plus. A one year commitment is preferred.
