JOB SUMMARY:
BD is a leading global medical technology company that develops, manufactures and sells medical devices, instrument systems and reagents. We are focused on improving drug delivery, enhancing the quality and speed of diagnosing infectious diseases and cancers, and advancing research, discovery and production of new drugs and vaccines. BD consists of three segments: BD Medical, BD Diagnostics and BD Biosciences. Medical Affairs is responsible for ensuring the safety and efficacy of BD Medical Products. The Medical Specialist 1 will support this mission by providing the clinician users perspective for new product development and current product enhancements, by assisting in the creation of instructions For Use (IFU) and training materials and through the conduct of clinical trials to demonstrate performance and safety of products for product development, regulatory and marketing goals. Duties include but not limited to the following: Supports BD product teams with clinical expertise, education, and assessment of clinical effects, relevance, and potential. Supports BD quality systems with complaint investigation and assessment, MDRs, field actions, and risk assessment. Provides input and support for Clinical trials with BD products. Maintains medical expertise for BD products and their application as well as general healthcare and pertinent scientific literature. Prepares documentation to support regulatory submissions. Develops and maintains relationships with thought leaders and specialty associations.
