JOB SUMMARY:
International Shipping Clerk Requisition # 260-4366 This position is responsible for pulling, processing and shipping finished goods for international customer orders. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED ? Computes duties, tariffs, weight and volume of merchandise that is imported or exported to foreign countries. ? Verifies conversion of merchandise weights or volumes based on country?s method of weight and measure. ? Weighs and labels packages and determines and ensures proper shipment method. ? Prints picking and packing slips for the shipment of customer orders. ? Prepares standard, sample and special orders for shipment for the Marketing and Sales Department. ? Corresponds with foreign organizations on routine matters. ? Drives forklifts and order pickers as required. ? Ships orders in system and approves for invoicing. ? May examine and create commercial invoices, bills of lading, and shipping statements. ? Performs various warehouse and shipping tasks, as required. ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS ? Lifting -- Not to exceed 50 lbs. -- local practice may apply. ? Writing ? Sitting ? Standing ? Bending ? Vision ? Color perception ? Depth perception ? Reading ? Field of vision/peripheral ? Noise ? Chemical vapors SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS ? Education and experience equivalent to a minimum of a high school diploma. ? Work related experience equivalent to one year previous warehouse experience in shipping products. ? Must be able to operate a forklift safely. ? Ability to be neat, organized and detail oriented. ? Must be able to work under strict time constraints and meet deadlines in a timely manner. ? Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others. ? Demonstrated computer skills, preferably word processing, database and other applicable software programs. ? Ability to work effectively as a team member. ? Excellent oral communication skills.
