JOB SUMMARY:

The Field Mechanic is responsible for all machine repairs and upkeep under the direction of the Mechanic Foreman. The Field Mechanic will perform all repairs to equipment. The Filed Mechanic will also keep all equipment clean and painted in combination with operators. The Field Mechanic is responsible for tools and small equipment. The Field Mechanic may fuel and grease equipment when necessary. Duties: 1. Reports to Mechanic Foreman on the following: a. Repair status for equipment assignment b. Service and maintenance reports c. Parts, supplies, or inventory usage d. Reporting process for all repairs as directed 2. Repair and service equipment 3. Tool care 4. Oil samples 5. Filter inventory 6. Oil, grease, and lubricants inventory 7. Winterization of equipment 8. Clean equipment ? regularly and at each service 9. Paint equipment 10. Service reporting and scheduling 11. Inventory and upkeep of the tool room 12. Assist on crews when additional help is needed 13. Personally responsible for cleanliness and upkeep of assigned company vehicle and shop area 14. Assist with loading equipment and supplies for transport 15. Responsible for repair welding and fabrication 16. Lubricant sampling and testing
