POSITION SUMMARY: The computer network is an important part of the Tooele Regional Campus structure. There are close to 1000 students and over 20 faculty and staff members that rely on the computers, printers, copiers and other devices that would require the attention of the IT Specialist. The Hardware/Software Support, along with Network and System Administration would be the key focus of this position. **This is a part-time, non-benefited position.The shift for this position will be Monday - Friday, 8 am - 12:00 pm ** Background check required. RESPONSIBILITIES: -Keep local area network operating with more than 120 computers linked to the Tooele campus system -Setup and configure printers, copiers, and other devices -Closely monitor software site licenses; keep software updated and legal -Analyze, diagnose, and repair faculty and staff equipment, including desktop computers, notebooks, printers, and iPads -Assure server backups are made at regular intervals to protect data from a crash -Oversee the LAN for the campus including data installs and repairs -Configure and set up client computers to the Aggies domain -Use Group Policies to set user access and configuration -Use Active directory to set client policies -Help set up faculty and staff computers on LAN and to interface with main campus -Keep current on network security systems; monitor and update firewalls to protect data MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: -2 years experience or a related Associates Degree -Knowledge of electronic equipment and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. -Excellent customer service skills and principles -Effective oral and written communication skills PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: -A+ Certification -Net+ Certification
