JOB SUMMARY:
Tooele City's Communities That Care (CTC) promotes and develops the concept of prevention science. CTC has implemented three proven-effective courses that are taught both in the community and in the schools. They are seeking a skilled, positive, and driven individual to join them as Coordinator for their family programs component, Guiding Good ChoicesTM. This position averages 20 hours per week and coordinates with parents, schools, religious leaders, and others interested in strengthening parenting skills and family relationships. Typical responsibilities include: - Planning, organizing, and assisting in building community support for the CTC system; -Scheduling, carrying out, and evaluating CTC programs; -Generating marketing materials and campaigns; -Recruiting participants and supporters; -Coordinating and attending various public outreach events and presentations; and, -Performing a variety of administrative duties related to program facilitation and records maintenance. Our ideal applicant will have the following: High school diploma (or equivalent);Three (3) years of administrative experience performing a diverse array of clerical duties such as: e-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, desktop publishing, social media and electronic marketing, and records management; Ability to build and maintain cooperative relationships with the public, partners, and program participants; Experience organizing people, programs, and training needs; Some public relations, recruitment, outreach, and coalition experience obtained through either a paid or volunteer capacity; and, Knowledge of prevention science and evidence based programs and practices. Traveling in an automobile is a regular part of the job. Applicants must possess and maintain a valid Utah driver's license and a motor vehicle record acceptable to Tooele City's risk management and insurability guidelines. This position is established to promote positive change for youth and families in our community. As such, there is an elevated public expectation that the individual selected for this position be well respected, portray the values promoted by the Communities that Care framework including a high level of integrity, values, and commitment to law both in their on- and off-duty conduct. The nature of the job provides some flexibility in scheduling; however, the position will require some evening and weekend work to facilitate parent workshops and other events. Occasional travel for training and professional development is also required.
