JOB SUMMARY:
SCADA Automation Technician needed for a Uintah County employer to work at it's Red Wash Field approximately 30 miles outside Vernal. Will perform maintenance, inspection, installation and calibration of electrical, instrumentation and automation systems associated with processing plants, gas-compression facilities, automated wellhead operation, production equipment and liquid-pumping stations including programmable logic controllers, electronic flow measurement, remote terminal units, radios, control valves, electrical and pneumatic end devices including transmitters, switches, controllers indicating or controlling level, flow, pressure and temperature. Will assure compliance and enforcement of company safety, environmental, governmental policies and regulations as they apply and perform other duties as assigned. Must have knowledge of basic electrical theory; use of Ohm's Law; relationships between resistance, voltage, current, power and voltage drop; NEC and API Codes as they apply to SCADA Automation installations; ISA standards; electrical, automation and instrument systems; various test and calibration procedures; PLC operation; RTU's; EFM devices; relay logic; PID loops; transducers; switches; transmitters; installation and configuration of radio equipment. Must have skill in RTU and EFM configuration; scientific troubleshooting techniques; the use of various voltage and current measurement equipment; test and calibration instruments; RTU and EFM software packages; Using Microsoft operating systems; basic computer skills using Excel and MS Word; various communication protocols and the use of various hand tools. Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment; under conditions associated with project deadlines; work in extreme temperatures (hot and cold); in and/or around moisture; on slipper and/or uneven surfaces; in confined spaces and at heights. Requires frequent standing, driving 4-wheel drive vehicle and occasional bending, squatting, climbing, twisting, balancing and reaching. Will be ex[posed to noise, vibrations, well-treating chemicals, glycol, methanol, gasoline, natural gas and liquid hydrocarbons. Position may require irregular or extended hours and travel fir project completion. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and move items weighing 500 pounds. Must be able to read and understand schematic drawings; interact with customers, govt. agencies, sales representatives and engineers; work with and inspect contractors to assure company standards are achieved; communicate orally and in writing; and generate purchase requisitions and code invoices. Must have as a minimum an associate's degree in recognized related field and 3 years experience as an automation or instrument technician or recognized associated field; current journeyman's electrician's license is strongly preferred; must have valid driver's license to drive employer vehicles; employer has attendance policy and must adhere to company policies including Business Ethics and Compliance Policy. Salary is negotiable DOE/DOQ, plus benefits. Salary will reflect market rates based on employer's Compensation Plan. Must include salary requirements and job order number when submitting resume.
