JOB SUMMARY:
Teach children high school English in a fully accredited school. Prepare coursework and identify objectives and outlines that follow curriculum guidelines of state and school. Prepare, administer tests and record results. Assign projects and homework and review and assess. Observe development. Evaluate students' academic/social performance as measured against established guidelines. Maintain student records, grades and prepare reports as required by school. Participate in discussion of pupil academic and behavioral attitudes and achievement with counselors and or parents. Counsel students when adjustment and academic problems arise. Note - the school's primary mission is to counsel children with behavioral, academic, social and drug related problems in a closed live-in facility. The law requires the students to be provided with age appropriate education. The courses are part of an integrated curriculum to further the overall rehabilitation. Requires a Master's Degree in English or English Translation and 1 year of experience. In lieu of, will accept a Bachelor's Degree in English or English Translation and 5 years of experience, or any suitable combination of education, training or experience thereof. No less than a Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of experience is acceptable. Experience can be progressive.
