In this role you will be accountable for: We are seeking a highly quantitative, driven, and creative Cost Accountant who will serve as a member of the plantamp;apos;s finance team. Our finance team has the challenging but essential task of managing the finances of a constantly evolving manufacturing environment. In this position, you will work cross-functionally with all departments of the plant with the primary objective of accurately recording, analyzing and reporting plant manufacturing performance data. You will gain invaluable experience in a position which offers significant responsibility and interaction with senior management as well as considerable opportunity to have a large impact within a growing organization. This is a full-time position and is located in our West Jordan (UT) plant. Specific responsibilities include: - Cost analysis and project budget performance reporting during the planning, execution and closing phases of capital investment (amp;apos;CAPEXamp;apos;) projects. - Creation and maintenance of CAPEX spending tracking models, including purchase order details, future spending plans, and reserves utilization. - Support of Finance and Engineering communities information flow leading to the on-time and on-budget execution of in-process and planned projects. - Appropriate summarization of Project detail to high-level Scorecard schedules, monitoring budget authorization changes, Goods and Services recognition, and Cash Flow timing and payments. - Using SAP to create, process, and close purchase orders, align Goods receipts to Invoice receipts, and ensure integrity between tracking tools and corporate systems. - Scheduling CAPEX invoices for payments to ensure cash flow timing meets targeted levels while respecting contractual obligations. - Managing the conversion of CAPEX spend to Fixed asset accounting by placing assets in service, working with Engineering and Controller to identify appropriate timing. - Maintaining proper Fixed Asset accounting and asset detail; correctly amp;apos;taggingamp;apos; assets groups, maintaining appropriate depreciation forecasts, and impairing, disposing, or idling assets no longer functioning to their expected utility. - Ensure that CAPEX activity reporting and accounting aligns with Dannon policies. - Collaborate with Engineers to develop and submit project proposals for authorization, including budget authorization, cash flow estimates, and payback analysis. - Manage CAPEX and operating expense to ensure that spending is under control and according to forecast and any unfavorable variances are communicated to management and corrected. - Benchmark CAPEX costs for standard activities against other projects and sites. - Control, track and forecast non-capitalized project spending. - Timely close each project by working closely with Engineering and Finance teams. - Participate in the amp;apos;Post Mortemamp;apos; for each project and create final cost analysis and actual payback. - Support administrative needs for projects The ideal candidate will have/be: - Bacheloramp;apos;s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related discipline. - 3-5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment. - A well-rounded top performer who can be a key contributor in a high-energy growth environment. - Strong kn
