Title: Data Warehouse Administrator - UT Location: UT - West Valley Cit Zions Bancorporation is now accepting resumes for our Data Warehouse Administrator located in West Valley City, UT. The ideal candidate for this position will have the skills and experience necessary to: * Be responsible for all activities related to maintaining the data warehouse environment * Br responsibilities include designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining the data warehouse * Perform installations, configurations and upgrading of server software and related products * Establishe policies and procedures pertaining to the management, security, maintenance, and use of the database management system; and training employees in database management and use * Br responsible to plan and build instances, create and modify physical database objects * Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures * Provide performance monitoring and tuning for the warehouse, data marts and applications * Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges) * Provide support tool evaluation and purchase recommendations * Provide technical leadership in the installation and management of RDBMS server hardware * Provide a strategic database direction for the organization * Plan for warehouse growth and changes (capacity planning) * Work with management and staff to establish and maintain consistent processes for the data warehouse environment * Stay abreast of emerging technologies and new design approaches * Perform other duties as assigned * Requires a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field with 6 years experience with RDBMS/MPP database systems (i.e. Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres, Greenplum or Teradata), database management tools, designing/architecting, developing and implementing data warehouse solutions * Being certified on an RDBMS platform is a plus * A combination of education and experience may meet requirements * Employs advanced knowledge as a generalist or specialist of database and database management products including SQL, PL/SQL, relational database design concepts, RDBMS database, related utilities and tools * SAL programming experience preferred * Advanced understanding of both database and system performance tuning, UNIX/Linux systems and tools, Unix programming (Korn Shell, Bash Shell, Bourne Shell, etc.) and the underlying operating system * Advanced knowledge of database security management, database loading methods, database platforms, mainframe platforms, files and utilities * Advanced knowledge of all phases of the system development life cycles and SQL and Database Management * Ability to plan and control complex projects, meet deadlines, and balance multiple demands * Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills * Ability to concentrate and work independently * Excellent problem resolution, testing and debugging skills * Demonstrated ability to take ownership amp; responsibility for development and maintenance projects Zions Bancorporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer
