Maintenance Technician III

JOB SUMMARY:
Essential Job Functions: (List 5-6 functions critical to the job.) 1. Responsible for repairs and up-keep of Press and Bindery equipment. 2. Troubleshoot machine errors 3. Keep machines in a safe and working condition. 4. Possess the ability to fabricate or machine parts as required. 5. Rebuild and sharpen machine components required to support production. 6. Do electrical and mechanical installations or modifications on equipment 7. Order machine parts 8. Maintain parts inventory Less Critical Job Functions: (Performed less frequently than essential functions) 1. Help operators with Preventative Maintenance and see that it is being done. 2. Assist with machine and press operator training when required. 3. Assist machine and press operators with adjustments and setups. Requirements: 1. Understand preventative Maintenance procedures and ability to implement them. 2. Possess strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills. 3. Understand PLC troubleshooting, programming and controls. 4. Make decisions necessary to repair broken equipment in a timely manner. 5. AAS degree or equivalent experience in a mechanical or electrical field. 6. Capable of reading electrical schematics. 7. Welding, machining and fabrication skills. 8. Read and work from technical manuals and drawings. 9. Understand and work with Voltages up to 600 VAC. 10. Experience with repair and maintenance of sheet-fed presses, such as Heidelberg and Komori presses. Other Skill/Abilities: 1. Must work as a team with other Technicians 2. Work as a team with operators and production managers. 3. Work with little or no supervision. 4. Be a self-starter. 5. Organize and prioritize jobs daily. 6. Have a basic mechanical aptitude. (Common sense) 7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 8. Must be able to maintain a clean and organized work environment. 9. Understanding of HVAC maintenance and repair. (Certificate to purchase Freon) Physical Demands: 1. Ability to lift 70 lbs. 2. Must be able to twist, turn, and bend as required by position. 3. Work weekends and overtime as needed. 4. On-call 24-hours per day, if necessary.
