Job Responsibilities This person will perform a variety of duties designed to service, repair and maintain parts of Boart Longyear drill rigs and construction type equipment. Some of the repairs you will be performing include working on hydraulic systems, diesel power machinery and high pressure systems. Must have the ability to diagnose defects in heavy duty equipment and be able to perform a quick turnaround to get these rigs back on the road. Mechanic must be able to remain in a standing position for extended periods of time. You need to be able to lift your arms above shoulder level to install and remove broken or worn out components. You must have skills in the care and use of hand and power tools and be able to manipulate these tools in areas of limited space. You must be able to work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others. Weld broken parts and structures using gas or electric welder and torches Must have knowledge of high pressure air systems, i.e. screw compressors and boosters Must have a knowledge of duplex and triplex mud pumps Must have electrical and hydraulic experience Perform routine maintenance of equipment Must in able to work in adverse weather conditions Be willing to travel up to 100% of the time Be able to work up to 12+ hours day for at least 20 days in a row Must be able to work well with others and have a positive attitude Must be able to communicate with supervisor, driller and safety personnel Must be able to work with little or no supervision Qualifications 2-3 yearsamp;apos; mechanic experience Be able to lift 100 pounds frequently Pass a drug screen Pass a background check Must have own tools Must have a valid driveramp;apos;s license and be able to attain a CDL Must able to be MSHA/OSHA certified Education and Experience Requires a High School diploma, GED or equivalent Boart Longyear offers a competitive salary and benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401k program with employer match, tuition reimbursement, and much more!
