Vertical Transportation Manager

JOB SUMMARY:
Title: Vertical Transportation Manager
Location: US-TX-Plano
Other Locations:
Responsible for managing the maintenance and repair of vertical transportation equipment (elevators, escalators) for national retail stores that have contracted Facilities and Maintenance services with JCI.

Principle duties include:
* Act as a liaison between vertical transpoaration vendors and the customer.
* Communicate inspection violations to responsible parties.
* Communicate pertinent information with State and Local Authorities, Store Personnel, and Vendors.
* Assistance in responding to emergency and urgent issues and inquires.
* Understand and facilitate vertical transportation contract requirements.
* Enable associates to respond to urgent issues and inquires received daily via phone and email.
* Review vendor invoices for quoted and non-quoted repairs and compare against service vendor hourly costs for accuracy as well as required supporting documentation.
* Regular follow-ups with service providers regarding the closing and processing of routine and state inspection violations reports.
* Support Construction, Real Estate and Legal Departments on various routine inquiries. Examples include: equipment installation dates, equipment manufacturer, current service provider and equipment repair history.
* Assist with reviewing repair proposals.
* Bachelor''s degree in business administration, electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience required. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
* Seven years of vertical transportation experience required.
* Five years of supervisory experience in management, budgeting, vendor management, operations and maintenance required.
* Previous working knowledge of escalators and elevators, as well as experience maintaining an equipment inventory.
* Demonstrated leadership abilities and organizational skills.
* Demonstrate communication and interpersonal skills.
* Able to deal with customers and others at all levels.
* Must be a team player, committed to working in a quality environment.
* Requires the ability to travel approximately 25% to field stores.
