THIS IS AN EXPEDITED HIRING AUTHORITY ANNOUNCEMENT. The Duncan Hunter National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) FY 2009 provides that the Secretary of Defense can designate acquisition positions as shortage positions and recruit and appoint highly qualified persons to these positions. This announcement is open to accept resumes from candidates interested in helping the Department of the Navy meet our mission requirements for the acquisition of systems, equipment and facilities. This Program Analyst position Surface Ship Weapons Directorate (IWS3, Program Executive Officer Integrated Warfare Systems, of the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC. Actual duty location is Arlington, VA. Position is responsible for acquisition, planning, analysis, Fleet support, delivery, issues, performance, funding reconciliation, cost estimates, life cycle management, scheduling and monitoring of milestones for the Ship Weapons Directorate.
Surface Ship Weapons is responsible for surface-to-air missiles, launchers and Naval gunnery programs that requires standardization, commonality, configuration management, design for logistics support, test and evaluation, modeling and simulation, risk identification and mitigation, and critical item testing, for acquisition phase transitions into the development and acquisition process.
