About the Position:
This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located in the Radar/ADA Branch, C4ISR Division of the Analysis Directorate of the National Ground Intelligence Center located in Charlottesville, Virginia.
The radar analyst researches and analyzes scientific and technical (S&T) intelligence information, gathered from many sources, concerning foreign battlefield radar and air defense artillery (ADA) systems. Using sound analytical judgment and engineering principles, and exploring alternative interpretations of the information, the analyst produces intelligence assessments, briefings/presentations, and other products for customers including the Warfighter, DOD Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) organizations, and policymakers. The analyst answers customer information requests and uses forward-thinking initiative to provide assessments and future forecasts of foreign systems' capabilities, vulnerabilities, and battlefield effectiveness with consideration of military employment tactics and knowledge of US countermeasures. The analyst utilizes modeling and simulation tools to enhance their analysis.

The National Ground Intelligence Center is located north of historical Charlottesville, VA about two hours from Washington, DC. The NGIC facility was first occupied in June 2001. It includes a modern state-of-the-art building with cafeteria and workout facility.
