JOB SUMMARY:

Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission.  They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations.  The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

About the Position:
This is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) position. Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Deparatment of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at hte National Ground Intelligence Center, Analysis Directorate.
 
Serves as the Operation's Officer or Intelligence Staff for one of NGIC's five Analytical Product Line Directorates supporting Army and/or National-Level Programs at the National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC). Coordinates Directorate-wide activities between three-to-five scientific and technical intelligence (S&TI) and/or general military intelligence (GMI) divisions composed of up to fifteen subordinate branches across diverse regional and functional areas. Represents the Directorate at Center, Army, DOD, Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and Office Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) meetings, and symposiums and conferences as required. Incumbent defines and negotiates plans, programs, policies, and various operational issues that are critical to mission accomplishment ensuring the effective and efficient production of intelligence in support of National and Departmental customers. The employee is required to maintain close liaison with counterparts in other government agencies to ensure coordination and integration of methodologies and approaches to NGIC's intelligence production.

The National Ground Intelligence Center is located north of historical Charlottesville, VA about two hours from Washington, DC. The NGIC facility was first occupied in June 2001.
