These are TEMPORARY positions/appointments that will not work more than 1039 hours (approximately 6 months).  Petersburg National Battlefield is located approximately 20 miles south of Richmond, VA. It commemorates the 9 1/2 month siege that took place during the Civil War. Petersburg National Battlefield consists of four sites spread across three local government jurisdictions. Each site has its own unique historic story. Summers usually average 85-98 degrees with humidity. Winters usually average 35-55 degrees with frigid nights and a couple of snowfalls a year. Schools, malls and medical facilities are available. Mountains, beaches, and Washington, D.C. are within a two hour drive.  For additional park information go to Petersburg National Battlefield
