Salem VA Medical Center (SVAMC) is recruiting interested physicians to serve as the Assistant Chief, Primary Care Service Line at the Medical Center. The selected candidate will provide administrative, clinical, and programmatic leadership for the Primary Care Service Line outpatient programs at Salem VAMC to ensure achievement of quality healthcare and outcomes. These responsibilities include Community-Based Outpatient Clinics, Occupational Health, Comp & Pen, and inpatient on-call coverage on the Community Living Centers or inpatient services.
In addition to our continuing commitment to quality Veteran care, Salem VA Medical Center is also a teaching hospital and research center, maintaining both an active R&D program encompassing multiple specialty practices and three active medical school affiliations with the University of Virginia SoM, the Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and the Virginia Tech Carilion SoM.
The VA Medical Center of Salem, Virginia is located adjacent to Roanoke, both of which are nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of southwest Virginia. NOTE: Physicians employed by the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) are paid commensurate with education, experience and qualifications, using VAs market-based physician pay system. Candidate's education and experience will be reviewed by a Compensation Panel in determining the salary of the applicant selected. The recommended salary may be at any point in the range listed for this vacancy.
