This position is located in the Division of Maintenance at the Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, in Vienna, VA.

 

Wolf Trap is located in Vienna, Virginia, approximately twenty miles west of Washington, DC.  There is no public transportation available.

 

The purpose of this position is to perform physical duties and responsibilities needed in the maintenance and operation of the park area.


This appointment is not to exceed 1040 hours in a twelve month period, although position may be terminated sooner or extended depending on management needs.

The incumbent frequently exerts heavy physical effort; for example; lifting and carrying objects weighing over 50 pounds, running power mowers on grades, pushing heavy wheel barrows, loads of cements, etc.  The equipment, tools and tasks involved in the incumbent's work frequently require special care to ensure proper operation and to avoid injuries.

The incumbent usually works outdoors in all kinds of weather.  The incumbent may be frequently exposed to noise, cuts, bruises, sprains, strains, lacerations, various fumes, smoke, fluids that may cause burns or irritations to the skin, falls, vibrations and insect bites.  Dirt, dust and grease are nearly always present.  At times, the incumbent will be required to wear protective equipment and clothing, which may be uncomfortable.

  • Incumbent must wear a National Park Service Uniform
  • Possess and maintain a valid State or District of Columbia driver’s license
