About the Agency

Wolf Trap National Park located in Vienna, Virginia, is the only national park dedicated to presenting the performing arts.  No matter what your age or taste in shows, you'll find something you like onstage at Wolf Trap.  From May through September, multiple amphitheaters in the park present performances such as musicals, dance, opera, jazz, popular and country music.  Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts offers a wealth of natural and cultural resources to the community and to the nation.

SPECIAL HIRING AUTHORITY CONSIDERATION:  Individuals who are eligible for consideration under special hiring authorities (i.e., 30% compensable veterans, severely handicapped individuals, former Peace Corps and VISTA volunteers, etc.) will be accepted and considered non-competitively for this vacancy.

This position is being filled under the Pathways Internship Program which is designed to provide students enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with paid work opportunities in agencies to explore Federal careers while still in school.

The anticipated entrance on duty date is May 2014 (IF SELECTED FOR THIS POSITION, YOU MUST BE A STUDENT CURRENTLY ENROLLED OR ACCEPTED FOR ENROLLMENT AT THE TIME OF APPOINTMENT).  This is an Excepted Service appointment not-to-exceed September 30, 2014.  This appointment may be extended until the incumbent's education program requirements have been completed (as long as the incumbent continues to meet the eligibility requirements under the Pathways Internship program).  This position WILL NOT be converted to a term or permanent appointment upon completion of incumbent's academic program requirements.

Wolf Trap National Park is located in Vienna, Virginia approximately twenty miles west of Washington, D.C.  There is no public transportation or temporary housing available.

The hourly salary range for the GS-04 grade level is $14.74 to $19.16.
