Exponent has approximately 600 consultants, including more than 350 that have earned a doctorate in their chosen field of specialization. <BR><BR>Exponent's Environmental and Earth Sciences Practice has scientists and engineers with expertise in a variety of disciplines, including analytical and environmental chemistry, atmospheric chemistry, bioavailability, environmental forensics, environmental liability and cost apportionment, global product stewardship, hydrogeology, regulatory compliance consulting, site investigation and remediation consulting, transport and fate modeling, and water resources and water quality management. In addition, our staff can draw on the knowledge and expertise of scientists, engineers, physicians, and business consultants specializing in more than 90 technical disciplines within Exponent.<BR><BR>We are currently seeking a Principal Sediment Transport Scientist or Engineer for our Environmental and Earth Sciences Practice in our Boston, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Houston, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Seattle area offices. The ideal candidate will lead business efforts in sediment transport analysis, lead projects, and develop new business in sediment transport investigations and modeling. Experience in litigation support and expert witness testimony is essential. He or she must have the desire to join our group for the purpose of developing and growing the international environmental practice by taking advantage of the highly qualified staff, capabilities, and clients at Exponent, and attracting and hiring new qualified staff. Our clients come to Exponent for handling the most challenging problems; we do not typically provide commodity-type consulting work. This candidate will join a collegial staff and will work with interdisciplinary teams typically from with the Environmental and Earth Sciences Practice as well as from the Ecological & Biological Sciences, Health Sciences centers, Civil Engineering, Thermal Sciences and other Exponent practices.  <BR><BR>This position requires expertise in one of more of the following areas:<BR> coastal processes, geomorphology, hydrodynamics, hydrology, marine geology, oceanography, policy and rule assessments, sediment transport modeling, and/or surface water quality modeling.<BR><BR>Qualifications for this position include:<BR><BR> - M.S. or Ph.D. in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Earth Sciences, Hydrodynamics, Marine Geology, Oceanography, or similar discipline<BR> - Fifteen (or more) years of experience in environmental consulting or part-time consulting from an academic position<BR> - An outstanding reputation among clients for integrity, responsiveness, and technical expertise<BR> - Experience as an expert witness<BR> - Excellent written and verbal communication skills<BR> - Experience in managing projects and multidisciplinary teams</font></td>
