Then Expedia wants you!<BR><BR>The Sr. DB2 Database Engineer involves ongoing operational design, Engineering and support of large DB2 Data warehouse running on LUW platform. Responsibilities include design of scalable DB2 DW system, Database design, monitoring tools, upgrade, workload management and performance tuning. Responsibilities include collaboration with Infrastructure team, Software vendors, Development team and other Database Engineers supporting the Enterprise Data Warehouse. Sr Database Engineer will be responsible for leading Infrastructure Engineering projects, implement new capabilities for DB2, implement additional monitoring tool sets , innovate ways to improve availability, performance, integration, work closely with software vendors to keep the platform stay with latest patches.<BR><BR>Responsibilities:<BR><BR>• Lead Data Warehouse Infrastructure projects with team of Engineers<BR>• Work with software vendors and Infrastructure team to continue to improve availability, performance, DR and Data protection<BR>• Participate on Proof Of Concept efforts to test new tool sets , implement the same in production and train operations team to operate the same<BR>• Support Operations team for Tier3 support escalations<BR>• Design, analysis and creation of new databases (analysis about number of database partitions, available memory, database size, database & database manager configuration options).<BR>• Database object creation & alteration (tables, indexes, views, stored procedures, functions etc.)<BR>• Federated database server creation in order to allow access of another databases (DB2 or non-DB2) inside a DB2 database.<BR>• Implement Database security model<BR>• Database performance tuning and troubleshooting & fixing problems faced by application developer<BR>• Exploring the use of Multi Dimensional Clustering (MDC) & Materialized Query table to enhance the system performance if required.<BR>• Developing tools using shell/AWK scripts to automate various database administration jobs.<BR>• Performing database security review (for the databases created & maintained by other DBA)<BR><BR>Qualifications:<BR><BR>• 5+ years of support experience with DB2 DPF in a large Enterprise Data Warehouse environment (100 + TB) preferably in v9.5 and 9.7 with performance tuning and work load management tool (WLM) experience.<BR>• 3 + yrs of experience in managing one ore more DB2 tools (WLM, TSM , HPU and TSA)<BR>• Strong hands-on Unix experience<BR>• Work Experience and Education Guideline </font></td>
