We’re looking for a Tier 1: Support Technician with the drive to put ideas on the table and the chops to make it happen.<BR><BR>Responsibilities<BR><BR>Analyze alarm conditions presented by various internal and external management systems, and provide triage process to assist in troubleshooting the affected service. <BR>Ensure that all assigned incidents are actively being worked by various teams within the organization, following through to incident resolution <BR>Update tickets, Bugs, and Incidents in a timely manner as well as perform escalations to external partners and content providers. <BR>Track all change requests within the organization and help facilitate in the change management and release process by providing assistance to engineering teams. <BR>Aid in providing root cause analysis and the support of the incident review process <BR>Update Support Documentation and support tools <BR>Provide assistance and support to other team members as required during critical outages <BR>Troubleshoot and diagnose systems problems; install and configure fixes for applications running on, Linux and Windows platforms. <BR>Provide excellent customer service <BR>Facilitate updates throughout the organization <BR><BR>Experience and Skills<BR><BR>Advanced Knowledge of Operating systems (Windows, Linux) <BR>Understanding of various networking protocols including (TCP, HTTP, DNS, ICMP) <BR>Basic knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange 2010, Lync and Office Products. <BR>General understanding of Networking (Ethernet, routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, etc.) <BR>Monitoring tools experience preferred (Nimsoft, Nagios, HP OpenView Operations, Cacti, MRTG.) <BR>Basic knowledge of networking concepts like NAT, Load Balancing, Fault Tolerance. <BR>Experience with analyzing system performance and network performance using monitoring tools and graphical data <BR>Basis understanding of scripting tools (Python, Perl, Bash, Powershell) <BR><BR>Education<BR><BR>Some college or equivalent post-high-school education <BR>IT industry certification a plus <BR>Related work experience (1 – 2+ years) <BR>About Blucora <BR> <BR><BR>Blucora operates two leading Internet businesses.
