Before you begin, please print out the job announcement; you may need to refer to it while completing the application.<BR><BR><BR>Environmental Sciences - Non Tenure Track Instructor<BR><BR><BR>About the Position:The Environmental Sciences Department maintains a vacancy pool of qualified persons interested in temporary teaching positions.?In anticipation of possible openings throughout the academic year and summer session, applications are accepted continuously for temporary, non-tenure track teaching positions on a part-time basis with occasional opportunities for temporary, full-term appointments.?Positions may become available at any time and are typically filled on a quarterly basis.<BR><BR>About the Department:The Department of Environmental Sciences provides a home for diverse faculty and students who are committed to interdisciplinary environmental problem solving.?The work of this department is largely interdisciplinary, though programs maintain a strong disciplinary identity.?Department faculty offer courses under the following emphases:?freshwater ecology, terrestrial ecology, marine ecology, toxicology and introductory GUR courses in environmental sciences.<BR>Position Responsibilities:This?is a?non-tenure track position at the rank of Instructor for the duration of each assigned courses and/or labs specified.?There is no expectation of continued employment.?The Department, the College, and the University value teaching and the candidate is expected to be an exemplary teacher; to be current in the discipline; to engage students actively in their own learning, including discussion, writing, and analysis; and to provide students with feedback on their course work and examinations; and to be available to students through regularly-scheduled office hours in keeping with department policy.?The instructor is required to have the students evaluate the course(s) using the standard University evaluation forms and to make those evaluations available to the department chair and faculty for annual review.<BR>Required Qualifications:<BR>* Masters or PhD in related field<BR>* Experience teaching university-level courses<BR>Preferred Qualifications:<BR>* Teaching experience working with a diverse student body<BR>Academic Emphasis:Enviornmental Sciences<BR>Job Location:Western Washington University, Bellingham, WA<BR><BR>Salary:Commensurate with qualifications and experience<BR><BR>Bargaining Union:United Faculty of Western Washington<BR><BR>Application Instructions and Requested Documents:Please log in below and submit your application via WWU?s Electronic System for Employment (EASE).?Note:?You will need to be using Internet Explorer to utilize our online application system.<BR><BR>A letter of application addressing the above qualifications, current curriculum vita, and names and contact information of three references is requir </font></td>
