Excellent opportunity to get your foot in the door!*<BR><BR><BR>Basic Function: <BR>Under the direction of the DC HR Manager, the Talent Acquisition Specialist (TAS) is responsible for human resource initiatives including recruitment, selection, staffing for hourly and exempt positions, on-boarding, regulatory compliance, and communication of necessary information to all levels of the field. <BR><BR>Primary Responsibilities: <BR><BR>Recruiting, Planning and Analysis of Distribution Center Staffing Needs <BR>• Sources, recruits, screens, interviews and recommends external and internal candidates for all levels of positions including entry level, experienced professional/ technical, support staff and management. <BR>• Sources candidates through the placement of advertising, networking, college outreach, job fairs, referrals and direct recruiting through cold calling. <BR>• Identifies backfills for anticipated turnover <BR>• Projects staffing needs based on anticipated hourly turnover in preparation for peak season <BR>• Posts all cross training opportunities and monitoring the interview process. <BR>• Responsible for ensuring employment and staffing processes and policies are properly administered, communicated and followed to ensure compliance with employment federal and state regulations. Stays current on industry news, trends, best practices and current executive recruiting/sourcing practices. <BR>• Continuously builds and sustains a high quality diverse executive candidate pipeline <BR>• Coordinates training with the DC leadership team and the Support coach to ensure smooth on-boarding for all new hires. <BR>• Maintains ongoing relationships with local staffing agencies and coordinates use of agency temporary workforce if needed for peak season staffing <BR>• Completes all pre-employment hiring requirements including references checks, background checks, scheduling drug screens, etc <BR>• Generates all candidate offer letters and follow up with candidates not selected. <BR><BR>General Human Resources Support <BR>• Conducts exit interviews and provides analysis of trends <BR>• Ensures that all new hire paperwork is completed on time and is sent to the appropriate staff members for processing. <BR>• Assists HR Coordinator with payroll and administration tasks as needed <BR><BR>Job Requirements:<BR><BR>Strong leadership, communication (oral and written), presentation, interviewing and problem solving skills <BR>• Working knowledge of personal computers and related software applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and HRIS systems (Oracle or PeopleSoft preferred) <BR>• Must be an enthusiastic ambassador for Michaels <BR>• Must be experienced in general HR support with an emphasis on staffing and recruiting. <BR><BR>Educational Requirements: <BR>• Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and HR related experience. <BR>• Three plus years experience in Human Resources and Recruiting environment <BR>• Working knowledge of human resource policies and procedures such as employee relations, compensation, benefits and employment laws</font></td>
