Working Title: College Advancement Director - CBPA

Job Summary/Essential Functions: This is an open recruitment; screening will begin on 10/8/12. Three days notice will be provided prior to closure of recruitment.

This position will plan, coordinate and execute comprehensive fundraising efforts for Eastern Washington University at the Major Gift level of $10,000 and above for the College of Business and Public Administration. The employee will identify priority goals for the assigned focus area and work with the Provost, Dean and Department Chairs to articulate these initiatives and cultivate donors for support. Work with areas of annual giving, planned giving and athletics to support donor initiatives. Write and present proposals that best reflect the interests of the donors. This work primarily includes alumni, friends of the university, and corporations. Participate as directed in the recognition and stewardship programs as gifts are received. Manage and maintain donor contact reports through proprietary donor contact software.

Travel is required for donor visits, primarily utilizing personal vehicle for visits in Eastern Washington region. Mileage reimbursement per state rates.

Conditions of Employment: This position, during the course of university employment, will be responsible for the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value: as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 18. Successful candidate will be required to pass a background check.

Work Schedule: Normal business hours are Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm. Position will require evening and weekend work. Travel required (at least four days per month).

Required Degree: Bachelor's degree

Degree required by: Date of application

Required Discipline(s) for Degree: Preferred disciplines include Communications, Business, Marketing, Public Administration, or related field.

Minimum Qualifications: Two or more years of professional work experience in fundraising work, and familiarity with non-profit organizations.

Two or more years of experience marketing an organization and/or its events utilizing traditional and modern marketing techniques.Valid drivers license.

Additionally, candidates must offer a demonstrated high degree of interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency or diversity.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Higher Education fundraising or development.
