Job Summary/Essential Functions: This is a 9-month position in the Dining Services department. This position supervises food service employees in preparation, production, service, cash sales and maintenance activities and participates in all food service activities.
Conditions of Employment: This position requires frequent standing, talking, use of hands/arms, grasping, eye/hand coordination and fine manipulation. This position requires occasionally lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. This position requires analytical thinking, remembering details and making decisions. In order to perform the duties of this job, incumbent will operate food service equipment, computers, cash registers and a delivery vehicle. This position requires a valid food handler's permit and a driver's license.
This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value, as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 18. Successfull applicant will be required to pass a background check. This is an agency shop position.

Term of Appointment: 9 months
Work Schedule: This is an alternate schedule with a 9 month cyclic appointment. Typical work week will consist of, five days a week, eight hours per day with two consecutive days off. Weekend may be a part of the work week.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associates Degree in food service management, nutritional care or related field
OR two years of experience in an institution or restaurant in preparing or serving food
Specific Position Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Valid food handler's permit and a valid driver's license.
Additionally, candidates must offer a demonstrated high degree of interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency or diversity.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience supervising an institutional food service operation.
