The College of Arts, Letters & Education at Eastern Washington University invites applications for a special faculty position in the Department of Education to begin September 2013.
The position will teach early childhood education courses in the Early Childhood Education Major, Minor and P-3 certification Program. The instructor will be expected to:
>>Promote the ECE mission of the Department of Education
>>Use effective ECE teaching strategies
>>Develop, revise and maintain ECE course materials
>>Assist with student advising
>>Maintain office hours
>>Participate in appropriate professional development opportunities
>>Attend faculty meetings
Courses taught by this position may include courses taught at both the Cheney and/or Riverpoint campuses. Some evening and weekend class schedules may be included in the teaching load.

Minimum Qualifications:
>>Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education
>>Prior College Teaching Experience with preservice and inservice ECE teaching candidates of diverse backgrounds
>>Curriculum/Course Development Experience
>>Considerable experience working with P-3 aged children in a classroom setting
>>WA State Teaching Certificate
>>ECE Teaching Endorsement
>>Demonstrated high degree of interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency and/or diversity
Preferred Qualifications:
>>Experience delivering courses by video conferencing and web based systems
>>Experience in e portfolio assessment processes
>>Experience with TPA development and procticum supervision
