               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Apply on-line to "Clerk,Helper-Grocery" at www.safeway.com/careers<BR>JOB DESCRIPTION: <BR>As the primary contact for Safeway customers, the Helper <BR>Clerk provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service.  <BR>The Helper Clerk has a number of responsibilities inside <BR>and outside the store area.  They will stock and face <BR>product and creates end displays.  Bag and carry out <BR>groceries for customers as needed.  Clean area within the <BR>store.  Ties up empty egg and milk crates.  Assist <BR>customers with finding items in store.  They may be <BR>assigned to any department in the store or assist in many <BR>departments.  May bring freight from the storage area to be <BR>stocked and rotated.  May clean and sort produce.<BR><BR>JOB DUTIES:<BR>Safeway Helper Clerk employees are generally responsible <BR>for completing the following job duties:  <BR>1. Provide customer service as currently defined by the <BR>employer within the scope of the position and within <BR>company policy.<BR>2. Obtain stock from back room and transports to the <BR>appropriate area.<BR>3. Rotate, condense, and stock shelves and end displays. <BR>4. Gather and tie empty milk and egg crates.<BR>5. Maintain cleanliness of various areas of the store. <BR>6. Empty trash in compactor and cardboard into bailer and <BR>operate both machines.  Empty trash into dumpster.<BR>7. May be assigned to bag groceries.<BR>8. Assist customers on sales floor.<BR>9. Other duties as assigned.<BR><BR>JOB RELATED QUALIFICATIONS:<BR>1. Follow company customer service procedures. Demonstrated <BR>prior customer service skills or related experience. <BR>2. Interact with customers and co-workers.<BR>3. Understand and follow instructions. <BR>4.
