<td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Mon. 11/05/12 5:00 PM Pacific Time <BR><BR><BR>Highline Community College has an excellent opportunity: Grant and Contract Specialist<BR><BR>Closes: November 5, 2012 at 5pm<BR><BR>Salary: $33,984.00 - $44,448.00 Annually<BR><BR>Important Information: The College is looking to fill this position by December 3, 2012.<BR><BR>TO VIEW FULL JOB POSTING AND TO APPLY ONLINE PLEASE GO TO HTTP://AGENCY.GOVERNMENTJOBS.COM/HIGHLINE/DEFAULT.CFM<BR><BR>GENERAL SUMMARY: <BR>Reporting to the Budget Director, assist administrators and faculty in the preparation of grant material; coordinate, provide ongoing budget analysis; review grants and contracts and provide complex and technical/clerical support services to the unit.<BR><BR>Under general supervision, monitor and maintain grant and contract budgets; assist in preparation of proposals and provide administrative and clerical support services to an administrator or manager.<BR><BR>ESSENTIAL TASKS: <BR>Assist administrators and faculty in the preparation of grant proposals; research budget data; <BR><BR>Maintain and monitor grants and contracts budgets; assure compliance with grant and/or contract requirements; notify appropriate personnel of action needed on budget problems; <BR><BR>Establish and maintain files of proposals and current grants and contracts; provide progress reports, accumulate statistics; notify all concerned of application deadlines and ending dates; <BR><BR>Assist recipient departments to develop and submit routine grant and contract proposals, and/or renewals; <BR><BR>Assist in interpreting administrative regulations and policies to staff within the institution and outside agencies; <BR><BR>Review grants and/or contracts to determine whether objectives are being met; make appropriate recommendations; <BR><BR>Provide complex and technical/clerical support services, including initiating and composing correspondence, typing grant and contract proposals using appropriate format and organizing and scheduling meetings and conferences; <BR><BR>Perform related duties as required.<BR><BR><BR>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: <BR>High school graduation or GED certificate AND five years of experience in office, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting or general administrative work with one of the five years working in grants and contracts. College education in an applicable field may be substituted, year-for-year, for up to three years of office, secretarial, bookkeeping or accounting experience, one of which must be working in grants and contracts. Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications.<BR><BR>DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: <BR>Strong Excel skills.<BR>Experience working in the Washington state community college system.<BR>Experience working with FMS (Financial Management System) in Minisoft.</font></td>
