<td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">MEDICATION AIDE, PART TIME (FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE)<BR><B>JOB DESCRIPTION:</b><BR>The Medication Aide is responsible for medications, treatments and resident care duties as assigned by the Resident Care Coordinator. This position administers medications according to acceptable standards; acts under the guidance and delegation of a licensed Registered Nurse; ensures that the next shift has a responsible and qualified staff member on duty to administer resident medications.<BR>If appropriate, answers questions of residents and their family members; ensures the medication area is kept clean.<BR>- Administers medication and treatments as assigned within the scope of practice<BR>- Maintains upkeep and cleanliness of medication carts and medication room; keeps appropriately stocked; maintains recording<BR>- Takes and records vital signs as ordered and otherwise when necessary i.e. monthly or daily<BR>- Will set- up tables in preparation for meals; assist with serving meals, drinks and food to the residents; assist with clean-up<BR>- Pick up laundry from resident apartments; collect garbage from apartments daily<BR>- Chart any unusual incident of information needing to be passed on to the Communication Log; medical information, doctor order changes; Report any emergencies to the person in charge; incident reports<BR>- Housekeeping duties for common areas that will include, but not limited to vacuuming dusting, straightening up, wiping tables and chairs, clean bathrooms, restock paper, etc<BR>- Perform other tasks as assigned by Supervisor<BR><BR><b>JOB REQUIREMENTS:</b><BR><BR><U>WorkSource will refer applicants to the employer who meet the following qualifications. These qualifications must be addressed specifically in the application materials.</U><BR>- Must be minimum of 18 years of age<BR>- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent, GED<BR>- Must have either HCA or NAR certification<BR>- Must have six (6) months on-the-job experience as a Caregiver for seniors; dependable.<BR>- Must be able to read Daily Communication Logs<BR>- Must have strong command of the English language sufficient to read and write and interpret medical and administrative information<BR>- Must be able to perform frequent lifting of less than or equal to 50 pounds<BR>- Must have good hand dexterity<BR>- Must have knowledge of proper transfer techniques and body mechanics to transfer residents with appropriate assistance (gait belt, transfer board, Hoyer lift, Camel)<BR>- Must have current First Aid/ CPR card<BR>- Ability to follow directions<BR><BR><U>In addition, the employer will provide further screening for the following:</U><BR>- Must pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.<BR>- Must enjoy working with the elderly; have patience, be cheerful and enthusiastic<BR>- Must deal with the public, visitors and residents in a tactful, graceful and caring manner<BR>- Able to handle complaints graciously<BR>- Must be able to work cooperatively with other team members<BR>- Must meet employer grooming standards<BR>- May be additional qualifications to meet state regulations<BR>- Prior Supervisory experience is helpful<BR><BR><B>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</B><BR>- Prefer Certified Nursing Assistant<BR>- Nurse delegation is preferred<BR><BR><b>HOURS / DAYS / SCHEDULE:</b><BR>-Generally rotating, but flexible scheduling.<BR><BR><b>SALARY / WAGE / BENEFITS:</b> <BR>-Starting wage between $10.00 and 10.25 per hour DOE.<BR><BR><b>CLOSING DATE / DEADLINE:</b><BR>-This position is open until filled or when advised by employer.<BR><BR><b>HOW TO APPLY/REQUEST A REFERRAL:</b><BR>For a referral to this position, contact your nearest WorkSource office with this job order number to verify that you meet all the above Job Requirements, and to obtain further information.
