Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, facilitating information flow within the Hospital, serving as resource person for problem-solving and decision-making, assigning break and lunch coverage, assigning patient care, coordinating patient placement, fulfilling pharmacy requirements, authorizing overtime and projecting staffing needs for the current/next shift. Although an incumbent generally does not take routine patient assignments, it is expected that clinical assistance will be provided as needed.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><BR><BR>Essential Duties:<BR><BR>* <BR>Serves as a leader and clinical resource to staff under the direction of nursing leadership; assists staff with problem-solving and decision-making; acts as a role model, demonstrating technical/clinical competence consistent with the needs of staff and the patient population; collaborates with primary RN or team leader to ensure the planning and delivery of quality patient care in partnership with physician, interdisciplinary team and patient/family.<BR>* <BR>Delegates, coordinates and oversees clinical operations and patient placement/unit staffing for hospital according to defined hospital standards.<BR>* <BR>Responds appropriately and timely to disturbances, interruptions, and subtle and emergent changes in the work environment to minimize potential risks to hospital workflow.<BR>* <BR>Supports and promotes initiatives of service recovery and assures communication for appropriate follow-up.<BR>* <BR>Contributes to the development and evaluation of staff competency; provides objective feedback to assist with staff performance throughout the review cycle.<BR>* <BR>Assists with monitoring of regulatory requirements as defined by hospital; facilitates essential communication related to patient care and operations; communicates closely with and supports leadership team regarding daily hospital operations.<BR><BR><BR><BR><BR>Qualifications:<BR><BR>Education:<BR><BR>Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Possession of a BSN degree is preferred.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><BR><BR>Experience:<BR><BR><BR>Two years of experience in the clinical specialty within the last three years preferred.
