A shared resource across all of Fluke supporting any New Product Introductions activity for the following business units: Value brands, IG, Thermography, FCAL, and FBC. Support Fluke technology and product roadmaps over the next 3 years and further.<BR><BR><BR>Role Description <BR> <BR>Active participant in new product introduction team as the key procurement contact. This person would drive and execute test and measurements long term and short term supply chain strategies. Ensure that all buying decisions support the specific needs and requirements of the Business Unit. Obtain all relevant preliminary information to procure parts, materials, equipment and services necessary for the operation of an organization. Analyze quotations received; select or recommend suppliers with whom orders are to be placed and schedule deliveries. Develop long-term purchase agreements and negotiate annual contracts. Negotiations as required to implement cost reductions before product launch and support cost savings initiatives in the growth phase of a new product. Advise appropriate company personnel on "make or buy" decisions as they relate to procurement costs. Arrange for trial evaluation of vendor's products with applicable groups. Prepare and place the most complex purchase orders with vendors for assigned parts, materials and services requiring extensive or specialized service. Confer with vendors to obtain all applicable information needed relative to products and services. Develop sources of supply where vendors and preferred supplies are inadequate. <BR><BR>Help estimate the material costs of new items in the preliminary phases of a product launch. Understand how standard costing works and how it impacts Purchase Price Variance and Product Margins. Maintain records, prepare reports and verify invoices for irregular charges. Support the project team through all milestones and ensure standard work is adequately completed at each step. Expedite and follow-up on critical production part shortages. Ensure a stable supply chain following new product launch.<BR><BR>Determine own practices and procedures under limited or no supervision. Position provides new and varied work situations of high complexity. Errors in judgment may severely affect production; create delays and revenue loss. Extensive outside contacts made with limited or no supervision with manufacturing and factory representatives and salespeople at all levels. Coordinate buying activities within the organization with other departments and buyers. Candidate will be working with project team members in other geographic locations and needs to be able to understand and react to the needs of all internal customers and compensate for the geographic disparity with increased communication.<BR><BR>* Proactive communication with vendors and project teams is critical </font></td>
