 <td align="left">Everett Fish Processing Business seeks candidate for the position of RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT- QA ASSURANCE TECHNICIAN Our company is a vertically integrated harvester, processor and marketer of seafood from Alaska, the Pacific Northwest, and around the world. We own and operate offshore processing vessels and shore-side plants throughout Alaska, the Pacific Northwest, and Minnesota. JOB DESCRIPTION: - This position ensures all research and development processes are performed properly and efficiently. - Secondarily perform duties as assigned within the Quality Assurance Department. - Operates basic food laboratory - kitchen equipment and some specialized equipment. - Locates and gathers correct ingredients for formula preparation. - Records food testing information and inputs results as necessary. - Assists in writing reports, summaries, and protocols regarding R&D, QA, and laboratory activities - Performs limited troubleshooting and calibration of laboratory equipment - Maintains a safe and sanitary environment in food laboratory - Maintains laboratory equipment and inventory levels for R&D supplies - Assists in procurement of raw materials and ingredients for R&D processes - Assimilates and generates new ideas for new products, product and process improvements, and product matching - Applying technology to food product and process development - Developing methods to modify and/or improve existing products and/or processes - Working with production personnel to move new or improved processes from R&D into the production plant - Evaluating food safety concerns with products and/or processes - Using statistical methods to plan development work and analyze results, presenting results in written and verbal format - Serve as potential backup support to QA Lab Technician; this may include being able to continue running tests for micro studies, reading results for micro studies, and data entry - Perform any additional administrative or backstage tasks as requested by QA/R&D Manager, which may include office maintenance, organization of records, document control, etc - Report any incidents of nonconformance toward food safety standards to the QA Manager - Assist Day Time QC Technician with daily QC functions such as weight and temperature monitoring, finished product inspections, metal detection, pest control management, data entry, and HACCP support documentation JOB REQUIREMENTS: - Working in-depth knowledge of food manufacturing - Prefer B.S. in Food Science, Chemistry, or related field with 2+ years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Proven problem solving, decision making, and project management skills are necessary for success. - HOURS / DAYS / SCHEDULE: - Hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM full time SALARY / WAGE / BENEFITS: - Wages are DOE and DOQ - Excellent benefits include Medical, dental, vacation and more CLOSING DATE/ DEADLINE: - Position is open until filled or closed by the employer HOW TO APPLY/REQUEST A REFERRAL: Report in person with this Job Order Number to your nearest WorkSource office.
