<td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Skyline Mail Carriers, Inc. is a local US Mail contractor with a private fleet of approximately 80 class 8 tractors and trailers. Our fleet consists of mainly Detroit Diesel engines with a few Cummins and Cat’s. We are looking for an experienced Diesel Engine Mechanic to join our shop in Federal Way, WA. This position is for day shift Monday thru Friday. This position will be the lead mechanic for all truck rebuild/overhaul of engines and transmissions but must be willing to do other task when needed.<BR>Responsibilities:<BR>• Identify repairs to be made to vehicles by visual inspection and by utilizing electronic troubleshooting <BR>• Perform preventative maintenance, ie changing truck oil, gear lubes, rotate and replace tires, brake repair/replacement and clutch repair/replacement<BR>• Rebuild/overhaul truck engines and transmissions in accordance with the engine overhaul manual to prevent breakdowns<BR>• Repair driveline components by removing and replacing transmission clutch and rear drive units<BR>• Respond to road calls to repair equipment that has become inoperable during product delivery to ensure timely deliveries and minimal downtime<BR>• Perform trailer and interior work<BR>• Document troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and repair activities<BR>• Communicate and coordinate tasks with Shop Lead Mechanic<BR>• Other responsibilities and duties as assigned<BR>Qualifications:<BR>• High School Diploma or equivalent<BR>• Must possess valid WA state license. CDL preferred!<BR>• Experience in trouble shooting and repairs of Power systems, Electrical, Brake, Suspension, Air systems, Drive trains, Clutches, Steering Assemblies, and all other truck/trailer related components.<BR>• 5 years of progressive experience as an equipment mechanic, including maintenance of diesel engines. Must be able to rebuild/overhaul diesel engines.<BR>• Possess basic computer skills<BR>• History of organizing and prioritizing work-flow.<BR>• Experience in fast-paced repair shop environment where multi-tasking is required.<BR>• Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations.<BR>• Must pass all pre-employment screenings.<BR>• Provide own hand tools.<BR>Other Skills and abilities:<BR>• Self-starter with desire to succeed.<BR>• Strong attention to detail and follow through on assigned responsibilities.<BR>• Possess effective written and oral communication skills.<BR>• Proven abilities in problem solving and decision making in a fast paced environment<BR>• Ability to work both independently and as a successful member of a team.<BR><BR>Top pay in the area based on experience, 100% paid health insurance for family, sick pay, vacation pay.</font></td>
